The town's shopping facilities are extensive. In addition to well-known high street names, there is a full complement of independent specialist retailers and two shopping centres, Park Mall and County Square. Adding to the atmosphere, there is a traditional stall market on Saturdays.

For those looking for a real quality bargain, there is the famous McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, home to nearly one hundred stores selling top national and international brands. On the outskirts of the town, and very close to The Maples, the Eureka Business and Leisure Park has a health club, family restaurants, a 12 screen cinema, nightclub and hotel. For the more sporting minded, there are local facilities for golf, again within easy reach of The Maples, cycling, football, cricket and fishing.

As you would expect, communications are excellent, with a regular train service (60-90 minutes) to London’s Victoria Station. When the high-speed rail link comes into play, Ashford International will be a mere 30 minutes from Waterloo. The M20 provides fast access to the rest of the country, and travellers can join the Eurostar at Ashford International Terminal and be in Paris, Brussels or Lille in a couple of hours.
